       Release Notes for Version 17.04.00 of the J1699-3 software


Except for the issues detailed in 'J1633-3 Work Status', this release includes the
requirements of revision 17.4 of the J1699-3 document and is intended to
test Model Year 2020 and beyond.



NOTES:
 - Slow PCs/J2534 devices may cause false vehicle failures!
 - For EOBD ONLY, scanning CAN baud rates may cause ECUs to go BUS_OFF!
 - This release only supports the 0404 version of the J2534 API!
 - The file "J1699 User Notes.doc" is a simple User Guide to the J1699-3 software.
 - To avoid false failures during the CARB Drive Cycle, do NOT operate the vehicle at exactly 25 MPH (40KPH).


Version 17.04.00 adds the following features:
Issue #     Description
1035        Add Medium Duty Truck to Vehicle Type Options (MD for trucks chassis certified and MDDC for trucks dyno certified).
1047        Change wording to ECU number prompt and Test 6.1, 7.1 , Test 9.8 prompts to match changes in doc V17.04.
1048        INF $77 should not have a phase-in period warning.
1054        Allow EOBD vehicles to have mixed responses to Clear Codes when engine running.

Version 17.04.00 fixes the following issues:
Issue #     Description
1043        Fix confusing failure when PID-Suppport PID $E0 indicates that it supports the next higher PID-Support PID.
1049        Fix additional failures when closing channels for unsupported protocols of partially-compliant j2534 interfaces.
1051        Do not display IUMPR values for ECUs which do not support it but do support I/M Readiness.
1052        Prevent display of incorrect initial IUMPR values in Test 11.2
1053        Add delay after banner display to prevent screen issues on Windows 11 machines.
