Release Notes for Version 04.12.01 of the J1699-5 software

This release includes the requirements of version 4.12 of the J1699-5 document,
with the exceptions identified in the Work Status spreadsheet. It is intended to test vehicles in
Model Year 2024 and beyond, that are compliant with SAE J1979-2 and J1979-3

NOTES:
 - Slow PCs/J2534 devices may cause false vehicle failures!
 - This release only supports the 0404 version of the J2534 API!
 - J2534 Interfaces that do not support all of the protocols being tested will result in the vehicle failing J1699-5.
 - To avoid false failures during the CARB Drive Cycle, do NOT operate the vehicle at exactly 25 MPH (40KM/H).

!!!!NEW NOTE!!!!
 - Command Prompt for Window must be at least 33 rows tall
Windows 10 and earlier: Right click Command Prompt Title Bar, Left click Properties, Left click Layout Tab, Set Window Size Height to at least 33 (Screen Buffer Size Height should be significantly larger).
Windows 11: Right click Command Prompt Title Bar, Left click Settings, Scroll Down to Launch Size, On the right-hand side, Left click Drop Down Menu Arrow, Set Rows to at least 33.

Some of the major differences from J1699-3:
The application only attempts to connect to ISO15765 11-bit and ISO15765 29-bit protocols for ICE vehicles, for ZEVs DoIP will also be checked.
Only US vehicles and evaluations are currently implemented.

Some of the variances from the latest J1699-5 spec:
Some tests which were in J1699-3 but not currently in J1699-5 are still run (e.g., vehicle state checks, etc.).

User Notes:
During the Manufacturers Specific Drive Cycle test, the data page (screens of DTC IUMPR data) can be changed by pressing Right Arrow (next higher page) and Left Arrow (next lower page).
The currently requested DTC with IUMPR Extended Data and it's place in the full list (x of xx) is printed next to the data page number.

Version 04.12.01 adds the following features:
Issue # Description
5-10322 Test 12.5 fails if all ECUs don't respond the same, but there is no requirement to clear codes with PSA = Active.
5-10324 Test 10.10 - Need to clearly define the evaluation Criteria when an ECU does not have any DTCs in a given readiness group (19 56 33 xx requests). Fail ECUs which respond with no RG data.
5-10343 Test 11.7 - The Evaluation Criteria lists "each DTC supporting DTC based IUMPR… should have changed from the values recorded in 10.10.", but it should say "each DTC from the required Readiness Groups supporting DTC based IUMPR… should have changed from the values recorded in 10.10.".
5-10391 Test 6.4, 7.4, 8.4, 9.5 - Freeze Frame evaluations must FAIL any ECU that has DIDSupported DIDs in the Snapshot Record and are currently not decoding them correctly.
5-10392 Test 10.10 has an infinite loop when processing RGIDs. Make Readiness Group data index a WORD.

Version 04.12.01 fixes the following issues:
Issue # Description
5-10372 Test 11.12 - Add the evaluation of SMAD to the test.
5-10373 Test 10.10 Does not print Readiness Group list of DTCs.
5-10375 Test 10.10 is not requesting Readiness Group $00.
5-10377 Tests 10.7, 10.10, are not logging the decoded IUMPR, Test Results, SMAD data.
5-10379 Test 6.4 & 7.4 - Remove Functionally requested Freeze Frames.
5-10380 Test 12.7 - WARNs when the value of Lifetime/Recent Average Battery Temperature (F88E) is 0 Deg. C, but it should FAIL only if the raw value is 0 (i.e., -40 Deg C).
5-10384 Evaluation of $F81C incorrectly compares CDEOGE-R to CDEOGE-L.
5-10386 Test 12.4 is WARNING “Unsupported INF $F810 Detected”, but DIDSupported DIDs have not been requested yet. Test 12.4 is re-connect.
5-10389 Test 12.8 is not detecting DTC Format that is not 4 for Pending DTCs. Ignore un-setup ECUs (not as many ECUs as user entered).
5-10390 Test 6.2 is crashing. Allocate memory for extra ECUs (ECUs which did not respond to initial connection)
5-10394 Test 11.1 is crashing after IUMPR, SMAD, and IPD Data has been collected on a first run thorugh the Dynamic Test.
5-10395 Test 5.6 & 5.10 DID cleanup.
