       Release Notes for Version 17.00.00 of the J1699-3 software


Except for the issues detailed in SourceForge, this release includes the
requirements of revision 17.0 of the J1699-3 document and is intended to
test Model Year 2022 and beyond.



NOTES:
 - Slow PCs/J2534 devices may cause false vehicle failures!
 - For EOBD ONLY, scanning CAN baud rates may cause ECUs to go BUS_OFF!
 - This release only supports the 0404 version of the J2534 API!
 - The file "J1699 User Notes.doc" is a simple User Guide to the J1699-3 software.
 - To avoid false failures during the CARB Drive Cycle, do NOT operate the vehicle at exactly 25 MPH (40KM/H).


Version 17.00.00 adds the following features:
Issue #  Description
280      Support J1979DA_201905.
308      False fail in Test 5.17 for Infotype $16 being supported partially, for China and EU.
309      Allow $0000 to PASS for TEST 5.17 INF $14.
310      Clarify wording in Test 5.17.20 for the SID $09 INF $13 error message.
311      Add additional details to the failure message for Test 5.6 to help identify the root cause of Group Response errors.


Version 17.00.00 fixes the following issues:
Issue #  Description
428      Do not warn or fail HEV, PHEV, S/S vehicles that have 0 rpm and improve wording of logged message.
429      Invalid 8 byte responses to PID $01 produces false failure in Test 5.6 and Test 5.10 for SID $01 PID $01/$41 comparison.
430      Test 5.18 failing with "SID $1 reverse group size mis-match", for no apparent reason (4 PIDs were used).
