       Release Notes for Version 17.01.00 of the J1699-3 software


Except for the issues detailed in 'J1633-3 Work Status', this release includes the
requirements of revision 17.1 of the J1699-3 document and is intended to
test Model Year 2020 and beyond.



NOTES:
 - Slow PCs/J2534 devices may cause false vehicle failures!
 - For EOBD ONLY, scanning CAN baud rates may cause ECUs to go BUS_OFF!
 - This release only supports the 0404 version of the J2534 API!
 - The file "J1699 User Notes.doc" is a simple User Guide to the J1699-3 software.
 - To avoid false failures during the CARB Drive Cycle, do NOT operate the vehicle at exactly 25 MPH (40KPH).


Version 17.01.00 adds the following features:
Issue #     Description
220         Modify Burst Test
1002        Error if SID $09 INF $6D has a value of 0. Should test fail ONLY if Lifetime < Active; If Lifetime = Active = 0 then it should pass.
1003        Allow INF $78 check to pass for diesel vehicles if RPM < 300 but > 0.
1004        Don't fail non-HD vehicles which support INF's > $29.
1005        If the Lifetime value (INF $6D, $6E, $6F, $70) is still 0, do not check that it is greater than the Active value.
1006        Change the allowable difference between bin[1] and the sum of bin[2]-[17] from +- 1 to +- 1%.
1012        Add Prompt for Engine Certification Year for Medium Duty Dyno Certified and Heavy Duty Vehicles.
1018        Remove checks against other INFs for INF $43, $44, $67, $68, $69, and $6A.
1019        Allow INF $78 RPM range up to 5000.

Version 17.01.00 fixes the following issues:
Issue #     Description
1000        Fix erroneous data size for individual vs. group PID requests of less than 6 IDs caused by uninitialized memory.
1001        Fix bug which prevented requests of FF PID Support PIDs $C0 and $E0.
1009        Remove non-required request for next unsupported INF Supported INF during Test 5.17.
1016        Ensure that the copy of SID $1 PID $01 data used for display is current in Dynamic Tests.
1021        Fix confusing failure message when an ECU didn't respond or responded with incorrect ID to PID Support PID.
